OUR PHILOSOPHIES
The Music Academy is a growing contemporary music school which was created to provide a professional learning experience for students of all ages and abilities. We teach students from age 4 to adults, beginners to professional. We understand the importance of high quality music education, and wouldn't be where they are today without some amazing teachers who introduced us to our instrument.

Laura is the founder of The Music Academy, and has been teaching music since 2015. She completed her Bachelor of Music majoring as a vocalist, and has been playing flute since 1999 and guitar since 2007. She now works as a teacher and professional musician, performing as a singer and guitarist (and sometimes with a bit of piano).
As well as teaching all of these instruments individually, Laura also teaches singing with an accompanying instrument. If you'd like to be able to sing and accompany yourself on the guitar or ukulele at the same time, Laura can show you how!
JENNY, PIANO, GUITAR, SINGING, COMPOSITION

Jen discovered her love of piano and all things music at the ripe age of 2 years old and since then, went on to pursue a music degree from the Sydney Conservatorium of Music specialising in classical composition. As a performer and composer, she's been a session musician for multiple bands/musical productions and spearheaded her own band with gigs around Australia and more recently, Europe.
If you’re interested in discovering your love for music or improving upon your existing skills - Jen teaches piano, singing, guitar and can show you the ropes behind music theory and songwriting.
ALEX, PIANO

Alex started playing piano at 9 years old, and has since filled his life with music and performance. This love motivated him to pick up many extra instruments to accompany his piano journey, most notably the bass guitar in 2015. He has been teaching music since 2018, with a particular focus on sharing his enthusiasm for music theory, improvisation and performing.
Alex travels to you for lessons! If you are a beginner looking to learn lifelong musical skills, or a more experienced musician looking to expand your abilities, Alex can help you out!
